How to tell when tech policy has made the big time?
A Bush Administration competitiveness initiative? Whatever.
Congressional hearings on social networking? Yawn.
Nope. It's all about our version of a James Carville/Mary Matalin relationship first publicly appearing on Page Six of the New York Post....
January 26, 2007 -- SEN. CHUCK Schumer's chief of staff, David Hantman, seems condemned to battle his Washington, D.C., girlfriend for eternity. Hantman, who helped shape Schumer's plans to rough up President Bush's Supreme Court nominees, is bolting to lobby for Yahoo!, The Post's Geoff Earle reports. Problem is, his girlfriend, stylish brunette Jamie Brown, is a lobbyist for Yahoo!'s Internet archrival, Google. Before that, she was a White House aide whose job was to quash the Hantman-styled Democratic objections to Bush's court nominees. "We've sort of gotten used to it," cracked Hantman.
Hantman will be taking the lead Yahoo! DC role. After nearly eight years in the post, John Scheibel left Yahoo! to teach last May. Hantman will be joining an experienced team that includes Leslie Dunlap and Jamie Hedlund...
Hantman (above) is not a typical Hill lifer. He co-founded an Internet business before moving to Capitol Hill, where he became one of the youngest Chief Counsels to serve a Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Before Schumer, he worked for California Senator Dianne Feinstein and New Jersey Senator Robert Torricelli.
Hantman ran for the Maryland State Senate back in 1998 and was nearly drafted into running again in 2002, but decided to keep up his work as Chief Counsel Judiciary Committee's Terrorism Committee in a post 9/11America.
Cheekily, his former campaign Web site now resolves to Yahoo!.
Here's our post on Jamie Brown joining Google.
We dub thee Jamvid.

The very next time I read a blog, I hope that it won't disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, nonetheless I actually believed you would probably have something useful to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something you can fix if you were not too busy searching for attention.

An intriguing discussion is definitely worth comment. I do believe that you should write more about this subject matter, it might not be a taboo matter but generally people don't talk about these topics. To the next! Kind regards!!
